Early on, it feels like college theater. You know, people working it out. But as the piece unwinds, you realize no, it’s that way on purpose. And not only that, you may have been looking at the wrong thing.
What I didn't like
My analytical abilities. I missed the big thing but don’t blame me! There was a lot happening!
My overall impression
Yes. A great cast going at it for the duration. Because there are layers here and a good deal of thinky business (which I had to speak with people about afterwards to fully grasp) you’ll want to go in clear headed and ready. The low lighting keeps things pressurized and spooky. A great piece run by a talented crew. Katie Eiler’s script is tight and clear.
And a great October play. As part of the Sacred Fools Monster Mash Triple Feature, this is the “serious” one. Though there are some hard laughs (some of the best in the Fringe, I think – the fish/lizard business in the hospital was outstanding), this is the one that puts your face in it.
