Wow! I enjoyed every second of American Conspiracy. The diner scenes were fantastic, and the emotional tension between mother and daughter felt as if I was witnessing a typical family drama. The interaction between the son battling to save the oil company and the self-interested banker resulted in a thought-provoking twist, providing an imaginative peek behind the scenes of politics and power. The story and dialogue were riveting. Great job to this outstanding fringe team, including the director and especially the writer! I hope to see this show move to more SoCal stages. ... full review

American Conspiracy was an intense well-acted and written play, switching between two plot themes, the women in the restaurant and the government. It is a different take on the Hinkley story interspersed with Beatles symbolism and metaphors that remind you how important the Beatles, especially John Lennon, were in advocating for peace in a violent era. We still have our conspiracy theories and this one was unexpected unless you know the history behind the assassination attempt on President Reagan. The playwright makes you think about things that happen today that we are unaware of and maybe don't learn about until years later.... full review

The author has devoted a lot of research into the root causes of the attempted assassination of President Reagan in March of 1981. It was very creative the way that events were portrayed in three separate sub-sections: On the right side the dialog among government officials; on the left side the banter between mother & daughter in the restaurant; and in between the appearance of an obviously nervous John Hinckley.... full review

A taught drama well-crafted by writer, director and cast. THIS is what we need more of in the American theatre scene! Would fit perfectly among one acts from Sam Shepard, Mamet, Sharr White. Garver and Schiller drive the action while Cantrell and Winston deftly listen and react from developed inner lives. Great ensemble performance all around. When your left wishing their was more you know they've conspired to craft something good...for America.... full review
