I was not sure what to expect – a TED style lecture, illusions, history, theatrics? It was all of these things bound together in an engaging hour! And on top of that – some casual hypnosis of a person plucked from the audience to show how we are totally manipulable on every level. Amazing.
What I didn't like
I can totally see how this show will have its haters. It’s not a standard ‘theatre’ format, some tricks are left to the audience to ponder, and if you believe in psychics there are some tough truths to face here. I don’t think any of this should change though!
My overall impression
I loved this show! Arguably the most controversial and divisive show at the Hollywood Fringe this year! A departure from traditional theatre which is welcome and refreshing. Engaging, entertaining, and I even learned a thing or two. It attracted a large crowd after the show as the performer gave an informal Q&A outside – it definitely got people talking!
