What I liked
For a third year in a row, Robot Teammate delivers everything you could want in an original musical – an exciting plot, colorful characters, show stopping choreography and infectious, memorably creative tunes. Musically, the group pushes themselves by exploring all kinds of musical genres – a fantastically energetic opener, the dramatic ballad the eve before the race, a rollicking folk number and (spoiler) a captivatingly haunting quartet.
What I didn't like
minor audio issues but it was a preview and things quickly evened out
My overall impression
It’s clear after creating musical improv comedy for years together, these talented performers love what they do and thrive in the zany world they created. Their love for this show shines through as they individually contributed to bringing this show to life behind the scenes writing, producing, directing and choreographing it themselves. Even the band members get in on the fun playing the slimy Martian competitors! Robot Teammate have hit their stride creating high-stakes, energetic musicals brought to life through zany, perfectly personalized characters, creative, playful songs and heartfelt messages of confidence, bravery and friendship.
