What I liked

The beginning.
The middle.
The end.

What I didn't like

Bono. Because he is so self absorbed. How brilliant to enjoy a performance so much and not like him all the way through….but then I did? Does this belong in the “What I liked….” column?
I’m trying to come up with something here….maybe a little more singing? It was so fun. The Edge could bump up his Irish accent….if I find out that he isn’t Irish then I am the fool.

My overall impression

What a great idea. Are you a fan of U2….you will love this! Are you a fan of WAITING FOR GODOT? Unless you are a Godot Fan Geek (does this even exist) then you will love it! Scared that you don’t know U2 well enough….don’t be! This is satire on Fame and The Edge and Bono are so funny, so tight, comic timing just spot on that you could have NO IDEA who these two men are and still enjoy about 90% of the jokes. Never seen GODOT? Shame on you. Then you will get a very clear idea of what this play is about with the characters of Domingo and Lucky. Domingo talks and talks and talks. Listening to his voice control, command of the stage and comic timing is delight and you could watch him the whole time only and be pleased. Lucky who has almost no lines save a brilliant monologue….his control, command of the stage and comic timing is a delight and you could watch HIM the whole time and be pleased. As writer and director and actor Mr. Lucas(BONO) lets these two characters command the stage and The Edge and Bono take a back seat in what is classic solid acting in sharing the stage but make no mistake they are present and as fascinated with the two uninvited guests as the audience. The listening and observing is difficult to act night after night and they are both captivating. Mr. Lucas is just spot on as Bono from the sunglasses, to the hair to the attitude. GO SEE THIS SHOW!
