"Waiting For Godomino's" is nothing like you'd expect. And yet... exactly what you'd expect? I mean, U2 waiting for pizza delivery in a Samuel Beckett nightmare? It's nothing short of genius. I was howling from start to finish. Richard Lucas has created a bizarre new genre of post-modern-absurdism. The writing was such a wonderful surprise, and a hilarious sendup of a play that's just a little too familiar to us theatre kids. Who could know how well U2 would fit into a Beckett piece? It was funny, sad, and still ended in a way where you wanted to stand up and say: fuck you, Beckett.
Bravo to the actors for such an engaging performance. Bravo to the whole team involved. This show deserves an extension: if it gets it, Go!...

You don't have to be up on either "Waiting for Godot" or U2 to get that this is basically a silly spoof mash-up of both Theatre of the Absurd and our celebrity obsessed culture. Good, clean fun that still could use some more serious writing - ANY silly gets wearying without a story....
