What I liked

Wow! This was an amazing piece of work. I am definitely coming back next week and bringing friends to see it. I didn’t know what to expect walking into it, but was immediately mesmerized by the story-telling. While focused on the life of an Arab woman, the themes are presented in such a universal way that everyone will leave this play touched.

Specifically, I loved the discourse presented around the role of religion, family, political conflict, war, and culture in building identity. The director’s use of movement, dance, music, (and even a little video) really made the statements impactful and easy to grasp onto. I left feeling I had learned so much about the the history and culture of Arab literature and womanhood, but also so much about my own identity building. Bravo!
