We did it. We damn dirty apes--we did it. But in this case, we failed to stop the environmental meltdown and the apocalypse came. And then we live in tunnels. THUG tunnels. So begins a goofy, half-punk, half-pop, pseudo-80's, mega-mix of a musical called Thug Tunnel. It's strange, bizarre, off-kilter, and (for the most part) a great deal of fun. Set in a world where people are largely living on rats and refuse, we meet Petunia, a woman who dares to have hope that the world above might have restored itself. So she devises a plan to steal the necessary materials to try and get there. But that puts her at odds with the dangerous villain Stabby Rick. With her boyfriend Panther, she sets off with Stabby close behind--and we're off. Using musi... full review

I am very happy with seeing Thug Tunnel, and highly recommend making it one of your choices for Fringe 2016. You'll enjoy the music as it lampoons Jim Steinman-esque 80s tropes, standard musical theater, and even a bit of opera in describing its characters. There are plenty of laughs and great one-liners (something missing from a lot of plays and films nowadays). There's enough drama to give the humor an appropriate weight, but the show never takes itself too seriously and the sadder elements are used appropriately to balance the stakes of the narrative. This is a team of hard workers, help keep em going so that they can continue to produce more great musicals in the future.... full review

It’s a rare quality when there is no clearly defined star of a performance. When an ensemble cast comes together in perfect synergy to sell a show that you can’t help but buy. The story of Thug Tunnel flows seamlessly into song transforming into soundtrack powered by an awesome live band that you’d buy tickets to see without the rest. If you know Robot Teammate then you’ll be initially surprised as they eschew musical interlude in favor of setting an exhaustive tempo that doesn’t let up until you run out of Tunnel to Thug. The writing is syncopated poetry with 16-bit tonal range. The choreography gives meaning to the spatial beg of a show that is cast in darkness. From Stabby Rick’s incredibly catchy, mic-dropping Collection Time to Panther... full review

I had a BLAST at THUG TUNNEL! A big leap forward in clarity and storytelling from last year's TIMEHEART (and let me be clear: TIMEHEART was one of my top five favorite shows last year), RTATAP have created a goofy, energetic, and emotional spectacle worth seeing twice! The performances across the board were terrific but Chris Bramante, Dave Reynolds, and Nikki Muller in particular blow the doors off the place! And Miles Crosman's "Trash" was a standout! Clever writing, great choreography, great use of the space, great performances. GO BEFORE IT GETS SOLD OUT! EDIT: This could totally be an amazing Comedy Central animated series, as the characters all fit a zany animated style. LOOK INTO THIS, GUYS!!!!... full review

YAAAAS! Best show in Fringe! I'm actually moving out of Los Angeles soon, but if RT&AP were to put up another production, we're coming back just for them! Well written, well performed, very well put together. One of my favorite things about Thug Tunnel is thought behind the music/lyrics and creative usage of their costumes/props. Just awesome sauce.... full review
