Cyanne Martin’s one-woman show mixes warmth and humor with brutal reminiscences of a young woman dealing with heart surgeries from the age of three. Her take on heaven, though familiar, is hilarious, and could only have come from the mind of an actor. One can see traces of Bob Fosse, as well as “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Her performance is startling, moving effortlessly between well-physicalized and specific characters, as well as emotional peaks and valleys, at the drop of a hat. There was a technical glitch the night I went, (ah, live theater!) and Cyanne covered it with improvised humor that kept the audience rooted and in the moment. A great night of theater, and a spectacular accomplishment.
