My overall impression
Keep in mind, I am inclined to dislike stories about rich people problems, so this wasn’t for me. While I found the use of space engaging, and watching Andrew Boyle spin from character to character was wholly entertaining, I couldn’t help getting distracted by the thought that the major conflict in this piece was one that I couldn’t remotely relate to. A big chunk of the show was devoted to how to entertain oneself living in London with an endless supply of money. Though we were to believe that central female character felt trapped, we didn’t know why she dropped everything for her husband in multiple instances. He seemed like a sweet guy, but she quit a job that made her happy so they could take a vacation…? The potentially compelling conflict was between them, but they weren’t together enough to see that manifest. However, if you enjoy a slice of life, and you enjoy rich people problems (and I know other people totally do!), this show is for you.
