A winner! Haven't you always wondered who you would meet in heaven? This is a hilarious comedy about some romantic pairings that take place in the afterlife. The show was well written, clever, and well paced. My favorite couple was Marie Antoinette and Ernest Hemingway. Who knew? At the end of each scene I couldn't wait to find out who the next pairing would be. Actors and writers Betsy Reisz and Ron Hanks brought these historic characters to life with witty dialogue and adept comedy skills. Great show! ... full review

I went to see the closing night of Afterloves, and I have to say that I wish I came to see it more than once. A brilliantly funny show brought to life by two amazingly funny and talented actors, I spent the whole 90-minutes of the show laughing. Each couple pairing just kept getting funnier and I couldn't wait to see who the next pairing would be. After the last pairing performed, I almost wished there was another couple to watch just as long as it meant that the play would keep going. Both Ron Hanks and Betsy Reisz are extremely talented actors, bringing each character that they embodied to life the minute they stepped onto the stage. Afterloves: Love Lives in the Afterlife was a big hit with me as well as my girl friends! I enjoyed the quick witty dialog of each character that the two actors portrayed. I was already excited for this show the moment I read the premise. But to my delight, it was far more fantastic than I had anticipated. The writing was detailed and flowed wonderfully, seamlessly weaving actual quotes from many of the famed personas into the surprisingly believable dialogue, despite the absurdity of the situations. Not only were the characters and matches wittily crafted, but the actors portrayed their historical alter egos magnificently. Ron Hanks was particularly adept at creating a wild and entertaining version of an excitable Mark Twain, as well as a brusque, rugged and frustrated Ernest Hemingway. I've seen a lot of shows this year.a lot of them brilliant. However the most brilliant in terms of writing and acting is AfterLoves written by Ron Hanks and Betsy Reisz and starring Ron Hanks and Betsy Reisz. Absolutely Brilliant.
