Coming from NYC and seeing many Fringe shows there, I really didn't know what to expect from the LA Theater scene. If Theatre Unleashed's "25 plays per hour" is any indication, this year's Hollywood Fringe is going to be awesome! The venue perfectly suited the performance, giving the audience an intimate immersion into the stories of the night. From the get-go, the energy in the room was electric, and the laughs didn't stop! (Except during some well placed poignant plays.) The cast was excellent and transitioned from character to character seamlessly. It was incredible to see a handful of actors play so many roles...and do it really well. When asking my friends which of the 25 plays they liked best, the overwhelming response was t... full review

With the exception of a couple good actors and a few funny ideas, this show was poor across the board. It could have marketed itself more clearly as a sketch show, since the "plays" were mostly half-baked jokes or bits. There was no arc to the random string of snippets, dotted with the obligatory "now watch this monologue". The staging was sloppy, the transitions fuzzy and the laughs wanting. Watch this if you're interested in mediocre sketch comedy, otherwise, I'd say it's a miss. ... full review

So much fun! This cast is full of energy and talent! Great performances and writing throughout. Each play is about 2 minutes, so even if there is the occasional skit that isn't for you, there will be a completely new one in a few minutes. I loved that the plays didn't have a specific theme - you never knew what would happen next. Definitely a must see! ... full review

it was a great opening night! everyone did a great job... when you think about how they had to switch characters every few minutes, you really have to commend them for their hard work! each of the 25 shorts were great and memorable! laughing one minute, then crying the next. Very great and well written show!... full review

If you loved David Ives "Times Flies", then this is the play (or should I say "plays') for you. The action is non-stop, and so are the laughs. Despite the multitude of writing talent, the play definitely maintains a consistent voice. The cast also blew me away. This one is a must see.... full review

The most efficient use of your time at fringe: 25 complete stories--nothing overdone, nothing left out. There is absolutely something for everyone, and the pacing doesn't drag for one second. I particularly enjoyed Courtney Bell's old lady character, and was hanging on every word during a riveting monologue from Danny Grossman. An especially good choice for people who don't see a lot of theater and want to dip a toe in!... full review

What fun! This ensemble of actors is crazy talented and it was such a blast watching them shift from scene to scene and character to character so seamlessly. I laughed out loud many times. A thoroughly entertaining hour of theater!... full review

25 Plays Per Hour is fun, hilarious, and a great escape from the heavier side of Fringe. All of the performers shine as their multiple characters and Director Aaron Kozak does a nice job making the whole thing feel cohesive. I particularly enjoyed the plays "Muffins" by Ian Federgreen, "Fairy Journal" by Lee Pollero, and "The Lamp" by Aaron Kozak. A job well done to the entire cast and crew!... full review
