I was talking to a friend about this show this morning and she asked "What's it about?" I had no answer for her. A plot synopsis would be fairly useless for this show. And yet it's completely engrossing, challenging, raw, brutal and visceral. From the moment the audience steps into the space, we're immersed in the world of White Hot. It's dark, it's twisted and it's filled with words that dart around the theater at unbelievable speed while still managing to be wholly understandable. The amazing performances, spare noir-ish lighting and sound design all complement each other to bring this very tough script to vivid life. It's unlike anything else you'll see at Fringe. From the moment this show started I felt something crawling inside of me, my breath got heavy, my heart was pounding and I knew I was in for an evening of theater that would move me. The tension riding underneath this play is palpable and director Caitlin Hart knows just how to keep it going. The stillness and explosions are skillfully crafted but as an audience we can't see the seams, it just feels like a tattered mess in the best way possible, life is a tattered mess and the best we can do is try to make sense of it. The four characters are trying to do just that, make sense of their lives and the actors who play them are constantly working on one another, they're in it every moment and it's exciting to watch them work. There's just enough... full review

I feel that Caitlin Hart is a fantastic director. And, The Vagrancy is poised to be one of LA's premiere new theatre companies. I feel that the cast of this play was astounding. The play itself is compelling and provocative and lyrical, but just slightly misses the mark...however, don't that let that stop you from seeing it. It's an experience. It's the kind of thing you need to form your own opinion of. Highly recommended. ... full review

Now I do not say this often, because I'm pretty damn picky about my theatre. But you must go see this show! It is... well, WHITE HOT. Great: directing, acting, design, material. The pieces came together beautifully in a unified vision. This show is one hell of a ride, and I was on board from the first line to the last image - dark, gritty, sexy, painful, weird - and FUNNY, darkly darkly funny - dealing with (my favorite themes) gender roles, relationships, love, sex and violence - and two fascinating female protagonists to boot! It is wonderfully cast, and beautifully acted by four courageous and committed actors. Congrats to Caitlin Hart, the amazing cast and crew, and The Vagrancy for bringing daring, exciting new work to life on t... full review

White Hot is one of those rare jewels that artists flock to Fringe to find. This is the product of young, passionate artists collaborating, driven solely by a burning desire to say something. It’s the kind of daring work that should be strived for by all theatre artists and is most definitely a must-see at this year’s Festival. Every element of this production was simple, yet dynamic. The set and costumes, a beautiful collage of blacks, whites and pinks, created a deceptively pleasant atmosphere. The lighting, a carefully constructed series of practicals, added a sharpness, an almost eerie quality to the action of the play. The acting was top-notch, particularly by the two sisters (Karina Wolfe and Michal Sinnott). Each portrayed their own p... full review

WHITE HOT alright! Hot, hot, hot! This show is the fastest roller coaster ride you can get on. It's raw, gritty, shocking and darkly humorous. I was surprised when I laughed out loud at the dialogue spit back and forth at such a rapid pace. The ensemble is sexy and excellent, the lighting fabulous, the direction wonderful. While the content might not be for everyone, it's 100% worth seeing. It's an awesome roller coaster ride for you adrenaline junkies out there. Go see this show! You won't regret it. ... full review
