HOLLYWOOD, California – THIRTY90NE presents their first theatrical venture and the world premiere of Matt Benyo’s Nostalgium as part of the 3rd Annual Hollywood Fringe Festival this June. Inspired by true events, and presented as one continuous scene, Nostalgium will have you inching closer to the edge of your seat with every twist and turn. It’s 80 minutes filled with love, fear, regret, hope, and mystery as you’re invited into a world you never imagined could be right next-door.
When a young poet ventures into the home of his eclectic neighbor, he’ll find himself entombed by “three-hundred thousand, three hundred and thirty one nostalgium laden knickknacks” – each with their very own story to tell, and each, a larger piece of a very fascinating puzzle. What begins simply as a neighborly visit unravels into a horrific, electrifying, and haunting biography of a woman trapped by homesickness in a game of cat and mouse no one can escape.
A preview performance will be held on June 9th at 9:00 pm in The Ruby Theatre at The Complex and performances will continue throughout the duration of the Fringe Festival on June 14, 16, 21, 22 and 23rd, also in The Ruby Theatre at 9. Tickets are $15 for General Admission, $13 for Fringe Participants, and are available for purchase on the Hollywood Fringe website. The show includes a unique and intimate audience set-up, with limited on-stage seating being offered each night, offered to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis. The Ruby Theatre is part of the The Complex and is located at 6476 Santa Monica Blvd. on Theatre Row in Hollywood.
The collaboration of Cannes filmmaker and director/ producer Alexander Thomas Scott, along with playwright Matt Benyo and the talents of Tracy Dillon and Luke Scroggins weaves a dangerously beautiful and twisted tale you have to see to believe. In addition to this production of Nostalgium, plans are already underway to shoot the movie version of the play later this year.
