HOLLYWOOD – Following a sold-out run and a nomination for Best Musical at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe, the all-new science fair musical comedy The Milford Project is ready to take over the Art/Works mainstage for four shows only!

Set in 1937, though little attempt at historical accuracy is made, the story follows a young boy, a science prodigy who is conscripted by the US government to build the world’s first atomic bomb. While trying to find his way around the ruthless-yet-sensitive government agent sent to keep an eye on him, a cadre of sexy rival scientists, some Nazi spies, and his pathetic failure of a father, the boy runs into the greatest obstacle of all: love! After falling completely for his brilliant lab partner, all bets are off as the story hurtles toward its explosively hilarious conclusion.

Featuring original songs like “We Are Smarter Than You,” “The King of Evil Scientists,” and the showstopping patriotic anthem “Marry Me, America,” Milford contains “inspired moments of hysterical lunacy” (Tony Frankel, Stage and Cinema) and was chosen a “Top Ten Fringe Fave” by Bitter-Lemons.com.

The Milford Project was created by Nick Martin and Kevin Oeser, whose writing, production and performance credits include world-famous short films for Funny Or Die, comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater, and the hit show Un-Zed: A Zombie Musical.
