view project

LOS ANGELES – May 30, 2011 – The 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival in association with The Meus Productions based in Ottawa, Canada is presenting the gritty urban story “The Crackwalker” written by renowned Canadian playwright, Judith Thompson.
Produced, directed, stage-managed and performed by a group of Canadian artists, this production will be one that you won’t soon forget!

This Canadian production is directed by Lisa Meuser, and features Edith Landreville asTheresa, Tim Finnigan as Alan – Theresa’s boy friend, Aphra Williams as Sandy – Theresa’s best friend, Leslie Cserepy as Joe – Sandy’s husband and Lucas Bear, a shattered youth.

The cast and crew have brought Judith Thompson’s work to life and along the way the group have discovered how truly authentic these characters really are. “This is an amazing cast, I’m so fortunate to have found such strong actors to portray a very emotional and difficult piece” says Lisa Meuser, Director. “We are all so thrilled at the opportunity to share this prolific Canadian play with an American audience”.
Theresa, Alan, Sandy and Joe live a simple life in Kingston, Ontario, Canada surrounded by poverty, prostitution, abuse and sadness. These four individuals capture what it means to be underprivileged. Still, among their backdrop of desolation, these characters still find the time to love, laugh and to “stand up for a friend”.

You are invited to come and experience “The Crackwalker” at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, June 22nd to the 25th at 7:45pm. The show will take place at The Hudson Theatre on the Guild Stage at 6539 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles. Tickets are limited so please reserve in advance.
