LOS ANGELES (June, 2nd) – AEA 50-SEAT SHOWCASE
Isn’t it interesting how humans find “a thousand means by which to hurt each other?” Ethically speaking, was the enlightenment a failed project? What was the immediate effect of the death of God, Darwinism and Freudianism on Western culture in the late 18 century? Have we escaped from the shadows and memes of gender expectations, misogyny, physiological warfare, and meaninglessness as individuals in a larger cultural shift of ideas? Take a journey back in time with August Strindberg’s nearly autobiographical dramatization of his controversial love life and worldview, look at it through the eyes of a modern viewer and then… ask yourself a question, how far have we come and how much further must we travel from where we are now!?! Sometimes by showing our worst angels we give progress “a push!”

sf August Strindberg’s Creditors comes to Theatre of NOTE this June as part of the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. The production is an Actors Equity Showcase staring Natalie Reiko, directed by Cole Williams and performed by Cole Williams, Tyler Thomas and Natalie Reiko. This alarmingly cynical, edgy, accidentally comedic, retrospective, and necessary retelling is sure to both frustrate and animate viewers after you leave theater!
