In her true life original solo show, “Squeeze My Cans” Cathy shares a glimpse behind the velvet curtain of Scientology. In this musical “Squeeze My Cabaret” version Cathy decided to poke the bear of this ridiculous and insidious cult, along with its poster child Tom Cruise- in a no holds bar bawdy, naughty, silly musical trip. All the shit she couldn’t say, sing or do while drinking the Scientology Kool-Aid! Oh, she’s definitely going to “ethics” for this one!

I have been traveling and performing in my solo show “Squeeze My Cans,” surviving Scientology. It has been a labor of love, redemption and therapy for my soul. Putting this Cabaret together has opened up the part of me that was always there. Hidden during my time in the cult always being told, “you can sing or dance next lifetime, we need to clear the planet now!” Sadly I was well indoctrinated and felt a deep loss at not performing in the area I had studied and longed to share. My daughter often says, “mom, its like you’ve gone back to the age you were when you stepped in to Scientology, to relive those years you lost as a performer.” Fiona said, “it’s like I’m the mom pushing you to go out and do it!” She is right! Words of wisdom from a child born in to Scientology and who inevitable got me out, watching the cult chip away at the person I used to be. I am indeed reliving a life lost. Like so many people we get caught up in something unable to leave it behind, whether out of comfort or just plain fear. I can truly say that Scientology stripped me of a million dollars and nearly 2 decades of a life that could have been… Well, no time for tears. I am back with a few scars that creep in but with a fortitude of joy and perseverance. Squeeze My Cabaret is just another chapter in a book I continue to write.
