PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 18th, 2019
Danny and the Deep Blue Sea
May 18th, 2019 , Los Angeles CA – Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, written by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Graham Hamilton, and featuring Rebekah Tripp and Patrick Wenk-Wolff, opening June 9th and running through June 29th for 6 performances ONLY at Thymele Arts Center – California Room – 5481 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90029.
Violent, vulnerable, yearning for something. Two strangers find their way to each other in a dark and dirty bar. They are both in deep need but without the wherewithal to help themselves. They do, however, attempt to reach outside of their broken exteriors and connect.
From the moment these two share the same air they engage in what Shanley refers to as, ‘An Apache Dance; a violent dance for two people’. The push/pull between them is palpable, hungered for, and may burn out as quickly as the flame was lit.

ABOUT THE ACTORS
Rebekah Tripp (Roberta) – Rebekah Tripp is a Chicago transplant who set down roots in Los Angeles over a decade ago. She has been fortunate enough to work within the Los Angeles Theatre Community as a member of some phenomenal ensembles. Some productions include: A Moon for the Misbegotten (Rubicon Theatre), Nice Things (Rogue Machine), Uncle Vanya (Antaeus Theatre), and Andronicus (Coeurage Theatre). www.rebekahtripp.com IG: @tripp88
Danny is a passion piece for Rebekah and bringing it to the stage with this phenomenal team is a dream.
Along with producing and starring in this production, she is also acting in another Fringe Festival production, Haddon Park. Find out more at haddonpark.com

Patrick Wenk-Wolff (Danny) was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil to a German Dad and Brazilian Mom. Most people don’t believe he’s Brazilian by looking at him, but Patrick would like to remind everyone that pale people are everywhere. He speaks four languages (poorly), has been acting for almost 20 years, and really likes chicken. He was last seen on a national Progressive commercial called “Future Son,” and on stage at the Antaeus Company (of which he is a proud member).
