“Amy Waller does an amazing job as solo performer, holding a very slick 60 minutes together with panache and style” — THEATREVIEW

“…Her subtlety in portraying such a strong character shines through as she progresses and is testament to Waller as performer and her inspirational source. " THEATREVIEW

“Visually and stylistically this production is extremely engaging and fascinating… A superbly crafted portrait of one war bride’s exhilarating journey – a truly inspiring story” — KEEPING UP WITH NZ

On a ship bound for America, 21-year-old Gloria Stanford hit the international headlines as:
“The Bride Who Wouldn’t Leave New Zealand".
Almost seven decades later her granddaughter, Amy Waller, celebrates her colorful WWII years in this haunting and heroic one woman show.

A superbly crafted portrait that leaps into flickering wartime romances with ocean-swept American Marines, swing time dance halls and sons lost to foreign fields. GLORIA will take you from the domestic to the fantastical in the blink of an eye, with a little Film Noir thrown in there for a sprinkle of sass.
This timely performance also celebrates women’s empowerment and the feminist resurgence.

GLORIA is the story of one woman’s fight against adversity and the struggle to find her voice amongst the personal and geographical displacement of WWII.

It only makes sense, then, for GLORIA to return to America, the land of promised dreams. Post sell-out season through New Zealand, this fearless performance is set to stage a sparkling new incarnation at The Hollywood Fringe Festival 2018.
