The Gentrification Cycle is a production of 2 plays by New York playwright, G.D. Kimble. An ensemble cast performs the west coast premiere of “Jen Tries Vacation” and the world premiere of
“Locomotive Repair in Three Easy Steps.” In “Jen Tries Vacation” there are limits to communication. An affluent couple, Jen and Finn, discover a landscape of magical manifest destiny: the inner city. In “Locomotive Repair in Three Easy Steps” we rediscover Chekhov’s 3 sisters in much the same place as we left them, though a bit more broken than before. The glue of ennui has started to slip. But whether they like it or not, things are finally going to change…

Playwright:
G.D. Kimble is an actor, playwright and director. He is a native of Louisiana, where he was a founding member of both GreenDoor Productions and The Pass-The-Hat-Theatre, having served as artistic director of the latter.
In 2011, he served as assistant director for the Broadway revival of Terence Rattigan’s Man & Boy, directed by Maria Aitken, and starring Frank Langella. In 2014, he assistant directed the New York premiere of Tom Stoppard’s Indian Ink, directed by Carey Perloff, and starring Rosemary Harris and Romola Garai.
He is the author of numerous plays, and his first full length work, Megiddo opened at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in September 2009.
Other credits include: What Passes For Comedy (Capital Repertory Theatre), Jen Tries Vacation (Access Theatre), and The Girl From The Thing (Stage Left). His play Two Irishmen Are Digging A Ditch opened the Neil Labute New Theater Festival in St. Louis after a successful run at The Glass Eye in NYC, and returned for its Off-Broadway debut in January 2016.
G.D. is a graduate of the Shakespeare & Company Training Institute in Lenox, MA, holds a BA in theatre performance from Louisiana State University, and an MFA in acting from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, CA.
He lives in New York City.
