Two singles—separated by just one floor in an apartment building—contemplate love and life while reprising Stephen Sondheim classics

Opens June 4 and runs through June 28, 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival (Project #2234)

LOS ANGELES, April 30, 2015 — Good People Theater Company today announced its third appearance at the Hollywood Fringe Festival with MARRY ME A LITTLE, a two-hander music revue featuring Stephen Sondheim trunk songs from some of his greatest musicals including Anyone Can Whistle, Follies, Company, Forum and A Little Night Music. Craig Lucas and Norman Rene thread the Sondheim songs through a story about two singles passing a Saturday night musing about love, never knowing they live just one floor apart. Good People’s production features Jessie Withers, noted cast member from the company’s recently acclaimed musical revue CLOSER THAN EVER, Ovation nominated David Laffey, and award winning Musical Director Corey Hirsch.

For Producer/Director Janet Miller MARRY ME A LITTLE is “about loving Stephen Sondheim.” She notes it is a true Fringe show due to a One Act structure (about 70 minutes) and for patrons who know their Sondheim “it’s an ‘oh, I love that song. And that song. And that song’ kind of show. Plus, for Fringers who know Sondheim mainly from his mega hits—like Sweeney Todd—it’s a fantastic chance to hear his lesser known, but no less brilliant, rep.”

Good People’s Fringe Festival production of MARRY ME A LITTLE runs for 12 performances at the Lillian Theatre Hollywood (1076 Lillian Way at Santa Monica Boulevard). The show opens on Thursday, June 4 at 7pm and closes on Sunday, June 28 with a 2:30pm matinee. Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for students and seniors, with additional discounts available for Fringe insiders (Citizens and Participants). Show time details and ticket sales are available online at MARRY ME A LITTLE Fringe Project Page: www.hff15.org/2234

As a part of their commitment to “good people doing good work,” Good People Theater Company also announced a special “Charity of Choice” performance on Saturday, June 27 at 1pm. 100% of the ticket proceeds from this show will be donated to The Young Storytellers Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the intersection of children’s literacy, storytelling and theater. The Young Storytellers Foundation helps more than 1000 kids each year write an original story and see it brought to life by professional actors in stage and film, inspiring children to “discover the power of their own voice.” (http://www.youngstorytellers.com)
