(Los Angeles, CA. May, 2015)… The Orgasmico Theatre Company is pleased to introduce a world premiere production of Shakespeare’s Last Night Out (or “What? YOU, Will??”) at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival beginning June 7th, 2015 – at Hollywood’s Three Clubs.

About The Show

A musical about Shakespeare’s life? Zounds! What does anyone really know about “the Bard”? After 450 years, lingering questions have spawned conspiracy theories about secret authors, from Christopher Marlowe to Edward DeVere. The list of literary usurpers goes on and on, and brings us back to an essential question: could an actor, and son of a mere glove-maker, have written that magnificent canon?
On the eve of his death, an ailing Shakespeare’s is out drinking, when he has a prophetic vision that his authorship will be contested in the future. Thus he sets out to stake his claim once and for all. Raise your cups with Will as he takes his last audience through the tale of his life with a series of tavern songs, ranging from bawdy to heartbreaking. Backed by his Muses who play a variety of instruments, Will recreates the unknown events and eccentric characters that shaped his life and inspired his work. Orgasmico’s latest musical brings the man roaring to life (and in an Elizabethan accent!)

The Orgasmico Theatre Company made its debut in Hollywood Fringe Festival 2011 with The Barking Pig which got in “Best of Fringe.” It’s 2012 offering, DOOMSDAY CABARET: A Rock Musical of Apocalyptic Proportions about a symposium of apocalyptic freaks and geeks meeting on 12/21/12 took home “Best Musical” “Best of Fringe” and was nominated for “Top of Fringe” (out of 250 shows!!) and “Fringe First” and went on to do an 8-week run at the 2nd Stage Theatre – earning critical acclaim and an Ovation Award nomination for best lyrics and music. The following year they returned with EXORCISTIC: the Rock Musical Parody Experiment which won “Best Musical” at the Hollywood Fringe for the second year in a row.

In Shakespeare’s Last Night Out, writer/performer Fisher, is united with director, Jeff Sumner (Boy’s Life, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, Godspell, Hollywood/Ukraine) who also played “Possessed Girl” in the Sacred Fools Spotlight extension of EXORCISTIC in 2013.

Shakespeare’s Last Night Out runs June 7th through June 27th 2015 as part of this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival. Performances are June 7th at 6:00 PM, June 13th at 2:00 PM, June 20th at 3:30 PM, June 21st at 8:00 PM, June 26th at 6:00 PM, June 27th at 2:00 PM Performances are at the Three Clubs at 1123 N. Vine St. in Hollywood. Tickets are $12.00 General Admission. Running time is 70 minutes with no intermission and begins on time. Please allow time for parking.
