DEAD DOG’S BONE COMES TO LIFE AT 6TH ANNUAL HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 2015: 2:20 productions debuts in the Hollywood Fringe Festival this year to present the Southern California Premiere of Dead Dog’s Bone: A Birthday Play, written by Dharma Grace award recipient Veronica Tjioe, and directed by Rosie Glen-Lambert, both recent graduates of UC Santa Cruz.

Dead Dog’s Bone is a one-act dramatic comedy that follows Juniper, a pensive twenty-something as she struggles with an inherited inability to commit- a quality passed on to her from Iris, her free spirited but absent mother. The play’s characters, which include Juniper’s good-hearted fisherman father and love-stricken corduroy-wearing boyfriend, must come to terms with the fate of the family dog which, as one might infer from the show’s title, is less than promising. The play transcends time and space, with events weaving in and out of the present, narrated by a boisterous, omnipotent, no-nonsense reimagining of the Virgin Mary. Upbeat and clever, touching but never without a sense of humor, Dead Dog’s Bone manages to ask questions about growing up and the quest for happiness without losing sight of the silliness present in all in all of life’s most trying moments.

Among the ensemble cast of 6 are 5 graduates of UC Santa Cruz, all holding a degree in either Theatre Arts or Film, and 1 graduate of UC Irvine, also with a degree in Theatre Arts. On the Production Team with Director/ Producer Ms. Glen-Lambert is Jack Myles, who is serving as Producer/ Stage Manager in his second year returning to the Hollywood Fringe, previously as the Production Stage Manager of Drunktank: The Musical in the 2014 Fringe.
