U and Me and My Best Friend P is a romp through the fertile mind of Abby Schachner. Veteran performer and creator of over ten solo shows, Abby is coming out of hiding with her number one passion— her creations for children— and inner children, like YOU.

Last year, Abby shared the story of her parents Dateline worthy divorce in a show called ‘Schachner Vs. Schachner’ (consistently the #1 audience reviewed show at the 2014 Hollywood Fringe). This year, allow Abby to be your fairy godmother-slash-conduit into a world you never knew you longed for! WORDS and WORLDS! Love and Letters! Deconstructed fairy tales for modern children! Modernized tales for vintage children! Songs for every letter and many happy endings (of the legal variety)!

All in all, Abby wants nothing more than to share her words and worlds with U. For those feeling brave or curious, take a risk and let her. Come feed your inner orphan with a little ‘U and Me and My Best Friend P’. Goes down like porridge, but tastier and more artful.
Abby bets her beans on it.

ABOUT ABBY SCHACHNER
At age five, Abby knew what she wanted to be— a children’s poet. At nineteen, she had the second calling— a burning desire to be ‘performance artist’. Over the years, onstage, Abby has boxed with raw Foster Farms chickens on her hands like boxing gloves and talked to individual strands from a clump of spaghetti as if it was her brain. She’s even created and performed smaller pieces, including a 15 minute piece called, ‘Carrie— The Solo Musical And How It Relates To My Life’ which includes, among many, an upbeat little ditty from the bucket of blood’s perspective.

As a comedic writer/performer, Abby toured the country with Second City, and she’s created many solo shows— winning “Best-Solo” awards at various festivals and garnering rave reviews in “The LA Weekly”, “The San Francisco Chronicle” and “The Chicago Reader”. The LA Weekly referred to Abby’s past work as reminiscent of ‘Andy Kaufman’ and ‘Monty Python’, The Chicago Tribune compared Abby to ‘Lily Tomlin’ and ‘Gilda Radner’, and audiences called ‘Schachner Vs. Schachner’ (which is a true story about a murder attempt) “Hilarious”, “Heartbreaking”, “F*cking Awesome!”

This part is secret so please whisper.
Abby was also once the host of a local children’s television show in Chicago, and she was even nominated for a ‘Midwest Emmy’ for ‘Outstanding Children’s Show Host’. She hasn’t watched the footage since.
