World Premiere at the 5th annual Hollywood Fringe Festival, June 6th – June 29th.

Theater Om Presents a new play about how a man and woman’s egos get in the way of their happiness. EgoManiac is a drama in eight scenes about love, sex, and the ego, told in classic Greek style. Playwright, Actor, and Producer Paul Moore (title role in Hippolytos at the Getty Villa, 2006) beautifully crafts a story about former lovers, now married to different people, coming together again at a crossroads in their lives. Innovative and dynamic Director Jennifer Derwingson (A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the National Art Center in Bali, Guilty Creatures at The Bindlestiff Theatre, San Francisco), leads a stellar cast of experienced, talented, and exciting actors in a highly physical, energetic, and ensemble driven theater experience.

EgoManiac is the culmination of a seven year spiritual journey taken by actor/playwright/teacher Paul Moore. EgoManiac is a didactic and archetypal story that explores the nature of the ego. A classic Greek chorus of three men and three women, which represent the egos of the main two characters, make up the dynamic of the storytelling. EgoManiac is a deeply spiritual play, searching for ways to express the mysterious, and mostly intangible nature of the ego itself.

EgoManiac is fiscally sponsored by ‘Beyond Baroque,’ one of the United States’ leading independent literary/art centers. Founded in 1968, Beyond Baroque has played muse to many of Los Angeles’ leading literary talents; many of the worlds most well known independent artists have performed on its stage.
