A high school football game. A crisp fall day. Then, things get weird.

In Trey Nichols’ explosive play, fantasy and reality collide with deadly force. Moe and Edie are buddies watching their sons playing football…or are they? Something strange is gurgling underneath this harrowing and hilarious portrait of the American Dream. Be careful which side you root for.

The cast includes (in alphabetical order) Wendy Elizabeth Abraham, Luke Baybak and Tony Williams.

Trey Nichols is the playwright. Plays produced in Los Angeles. include The Meadows, Murphy’s Xmas (adapted from the short story by Mark Costello), PCH, One Slit Head, Pina Coladas, Impact, Chair/Silhouette, and Todd’s Hollywood Tours. Trey’s highly acclaimed solo play, A Lesson in Proper Bow-Fluffing Technique (Storey Productions/Moving Arts) received an LA Stage Alliance Ovation nomination for Best Solo Performance. For the last few years, Trey has been active with Moving Arts’ acclaimed theatrical production “The Car Plays,” performing in The W.o.W. Series at the La Jolla Playhouse, The Off Center Festival at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, and RADAR LA Festival at REDCAT. He received a B.S. in Theatre from Northwestern University.

Vesna Hocevar is a director and producer originally from Slovenia, where she co-founded and managed GUD Sibi, an award winning theatre company. It was there that she directed her first multi media performance vPETa, which sealed her fate and transformed her into a full time artist. Upon moving to Los Angeles in 2009 she became a company member of Moving Arts and continued to direct and produce with other LA based theater companies like Celebration Theater, Bootleg Theater, Playwrights6 and Odyssey Ensemble Theatre. Last year she received “Best of 2011-2012 SCENIES” for OUTSTANDING DIRECTION OF A COMEDY-DRAMA for “Cintra My Gift To Me”(Celebration Theatre & Playwrights6). This year she was nominated for LA Weekly Theatre Award for BEST ONE-ACT DIRECTION (“Theatre In The Dark”- Odyssey Ensemble Theatre).

Moving Arts’ original production of “Fathers at a Game” in 1995 was both a world premiere and Trey’s first professional production, which means it was very much in keeping with Moving Arts’ mission of premiering new plays and launching new playwrights. The current production is part of 20/20 Vision: Moving Arts’ 20th Anniversary Season. Twenty of Moving Arts’ previously presented plays are being revisited in productions and readings in a celebratory commemoration of achievement.
