“We need to stop making the same mistake.”

A new play from Michael Franco the award-winning writer, director, producer, designer and actor that brought Nosferatu, The Master and Margarita, Pathe ‘X, Heart of a Dog, Gorey Stories, The Room, The Swine Show and Joe’s Garage to the Los Angeles stage. Longtime collaborators Franco and Dunn, having worked together on Heart Of A Dog at the Lillian Theater and Joe’s Garage at The Open Fist along with Lema and Maddalena who joined Franco on The Room with The Open Fist, have come together again to put the mirror up to the American psyche and give us a cold, hard look at what our political actions, or inactions, may bring us all to…sooner than we think. The deeply disturbing portrayal of Enhanced Interrogation techniques in our media and the terror of Sandy Hook inspired new father Franco to write out his fears of what will become of our freedoms and question his own responsibility for the world that we are creating and leaving for our children.

“I swear to God I’m shooting someone.”

The Interview, is a dark comedy in the tradition of the existential theater of the absurd.
An American citizen is being detained and interviewed. He doesn’t know where he is or why he is there. His Interviewers seem to think he knows something and they will stop at nothing to get the information they need, but oddly enough they never seem to ask him anything. An examination of torture, guns, organized religion, the media and the endless cycle of man’s inhumanity to man.
It’s a comedy.
Violence and Strong language.

“I’m definitely getting a bat.”
