FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Los Angeles, CA (June 2013) – On June 8, 13, 19, 21, and 29, RedSoil Theater Company returns to the annual Hollywood Fringe Festival presenting The Harry and Sam Dialogues by Karen Ellison at the Theatre Asylum Lab.

The Harry and Sam Dialogues is a comedy about the lives of two friends who like to pass the time by posing outlandish questions to one another. These questions, shrouded in indifference, allow each man to question the other while avoiding ordinary, but important, life matters. But, soon indifference melts into destruction forcing Harry and Sam apart—-changing their friendship forever. “This story explores friendship and forgiveness but it’s more than just that; it’s about betrayal, vulnerability, and mutual love between two best friends who happen to be men. They go through the cycles of life together, they talk about their past and future, and the audience will be there going through each milestone of their lives. With this play I hope to connect the audience on deep level to these men that by the end of the play, it feels like we’ve lived through their full lives in just one hour,” says Director, Matthew D. Fauls.

RedSoil Theater Company debuted at last year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival to critical acclaim for their adaptation of Immaculée Ilibagiza’s book Left to Tell. “Forgiveness was also the theme of our last show, although under completely different circumstances; Left to Tell was about the Rwanda genocide and The Harry and Sam Dialogues is about ordinary people in America, but forgiveness is universal. Though now it seems as the act of forgiving has lost its true meaning,” says Eriko Azuma, RedSoil Theater Company’s Founder and Artistic Director. With a comedic exterior and emotional core, The Harry and Sam Dialogues shines a light on two lives, the friendship between them, and the act of truly being able to forgive.

About RedSoil Theater Company: RedSoil Theater Company’s mission is to produce original and published works that speak to raw human truths and transcend borders of race, ethnicity, culture, and language with an aesthetic that blends theater, visual art, dance, and music to gather to serve artists and audiences who truly care about the world in which they live.
