Nakta Pahlevan, an Iranian American based in Los Angeles, whose journey has encompassed various facets of theater; including writing, directing, producing, and acting.
Recently, Nakta recently wrote, produced, directed, and starred in Seven Labours of Liberty, a work that was warmly received at venues such as the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, Royce Hall at UCLA, and the Barclay Theatre. TehrAngeles is another labor of love, debuted in March at the Central Library. These experiences have allowed her to delve into and share stories close to her heart. Prior to these projects, from 2019 to 2021, she acted in Death and the Maiden at the Odyssey Theatre and Houshang Touzie’s Shaaer E Noghrehee. As well as Alice in Persialand, a musical comedy satire that she produced and starred in, under the direction of Majid Mirfakhraei.
Since 2014, Nakta has had the privilege of gracing over 100 stages in Los Angeles, portraying roles as diverse as Margaret in Much Ado About Nothing and the courtesan in The Comedy of Errors. Other theatre credits include Down on Your Knees and Up To The Moon, Wild Songs & Naked Souls, Joyce Carol Oates’ I Stand Before You Naked, and the LA premiere of Love Allways.
In 2018, Nakta created “Khordadgan,” a fusion-art show that blends visual arts, dance, poetry, and music, aiming to offer something unique to the arts community. Her film roles include appearances in Blackout, Terminal Submersion, Over My Dead Body the Emmy-nominated , The White Ribbon, and Truth, where she brought the same passion and authenticity to the screen as to the stage.
Her work reflects her dedication to exploring diverse narratives and the power of storytelling, as she aims to connect with audiences and fellow artists alike.
