The Search for Chocolate

"The Candyman" is one of the theme songs she sings, representing her unwavering pursuit of "Mr. Right." Because of her affiliation with Scientology, Pamela becomes anathema and on the verge of collapse. Additionally, she meets a sad end when she discovers "Christopher," an appropriately titled savior figure—ironic for a decent Jewish girl. She becomes obsessed with the Kabbalah after her mother convinces her otherwise and eventually saves her from the Scientology cult. And eventually, after a lifetime of dreams dashed and repeatedly endangered by a series of poor choices she made, she visits Israel. A one person show is a huge undertaking for an actor. Pamela pulled that off without a hitch. She kept the attention of the audience and kept them involved. It was a remarkable performance and I am sure gut wrenching as she traveled from her youth to the present. ... full review

A Bittersweet Journey, @ the Fringe Festival, Starring Pamela Brode “The Search For Chocolate,” as performed and written by the very talented Pamela Brode, is a delightful and delectable romp through her love life, her striving for validation and approval, her quest for Jewish identity, with a family that defied expectations.
