There was a really great balance between lighthearted comedy and heavy-hitting emotional moments, both very well delivered. The main characters and recurring side characters are well developed, and you feel like you’re really getting to know them across the show.
What I didn't like
At some points the expository details feel a little bit overdone, e.g. “Vicky, our boss” or “Kayla’s mom Trish.” I think some of the people or scenes could be introduced in a more subtle way that flows more naturally with the rest of the narration.
My overall impression
A beautiful story about nature, humanity, and the everyday miracles that connect us all. At times the show is quirky and comedic; at other times it forces us to confront ugly and difficult truths, from political conflict to the fragility of human life.
