What I liked
I enjoyed Gail’s comedic timing. She had a keen understanding of comedic structure, and the text shined through her performance because of it. I could easily envision the characters and locations she created in her piece. She has such a strong presence on stage which is wonderful to witness.
What I didn't like
I would love to see how this piece would adapt if certain scenes were acted out in real time versus being recounted from a past experience. Whether Gail plays multiple roles or casts 1 actor to become the many people she interacts with, I’d be interested in seeing how that challenge would affect the production. I would also like to see more of the stage utilized.
My overall impression
A passionate performance by Gail Thomas filled with heart, laughs, and the sobering reality that life is meant to be lived.
