The play takes place @ 9PM (get there early to receive yr boarding pass) both outside (with flight attendants and a fence) and inside, where the whole space is used and the visual and sound effects give the audience a sense of open space.
The lot has sets and full-wall projections. It’s, imho, a cross between a guided walk-thru, say, in Vegas and an MMORPG with real people. Character costumes & make-up were fun and relevant. Much of Rodrigo Correia’s creation is like a dark comedy.
The theme of “Last Stop: In Between” was thought provoking and the actors, who interact with the audience, were engaging with stories and improvisation.
What I didn't like
The indoor special fx audio volume at times competed with some of the character’s lines. It may’ve been where I chose to stand, so if I see it again (2 shows left!) I’ll try out another area of the space (the audience is free to move about and pick their spot) to better hear the characters.
My overall impression
I attended last night’s performance in a fresh space (debuting across the street from The Jaxx, Studio ElJinxx or as I say, The Jinxx) and came away feeling I’d had a unique experience; entertaining and immersive. Recommended!
