What I liked

It was a show that was so well written and executed so well to start you laughing, and slowly tug you down into a tragedy but always merciful enough to let you breathe with some comedy before going down further with each vignette’s dive. The comedy says “take a breath” and the vignette’s plunge you into the depths. Extremely well paced for it to feel like an exciting dive into an emotional story rather than tragic emotional waterboarding.

What I didn't like

It’s difficult for me to say anything here since it’s such a nice package all together. But if pressed, I would wonder if some of the vignette’s could be tightened by 5%. I felt like I understood the point and was ready to continue. But it wasn’t soon after that they transitioned—so again, very minor.

My overall impression

There’s blood on the floor that needs to be cleaned up before the next show. It certainly felt that way. It was an emotionally bloody, heartbreaking story presented so vulnerably 10 feet from me.

To say “I believed them” is a disservice to how I feel…it’s more like “I witnessed them” if that makes sense—as if I actually witnessed a heartbreak right in front of me.

The raw emotion, the guttural and breaking of their voices, it was wrenching. Hats off to the actors who left themselves on the stage—reserving nothing.
