I so appreciated the honesty and vulnerability of both characters. Hollie mentioned that they are not actors, so to stand on stage and deliver what is not just a seminar on mindfulness and well-being, but a personal story of overcoming challenges, is courageous. Thank you for sharing both sides of yourself: the personal and the professional. Even as the “expert”, I appreciated that Hollie let us in on her own struggles… for example, the difficulty of looking in the bag! Who wants to go first?!? ;)
I also loved the humor, and the live music. Hollie’s husband showed up only in sound effects! So clever!
What I didn't like
Honestly, as an audience member, I would love to know more about the stories of both characters. For example, Hollie mentioned a turning point for her, a “down on her knees” type moment, and I would love to be let into more of those details. I think it would deepen the overall impact of the piece that much more!
My overall impression
A compelling way to tell a story about mindfulness, courage, and familial ties.
