What I liked

The writing, the uniqueness of the concept, this is such a cool idea and I am really excited to see how this transpires and continues to grow in the future!

What I didn't like

Let me preface this by saying: I had a fun time and really admire the craftwork to putting this show up. This is such a cool, unique experience — and I want to see more of this in the future.

However, speaking as purely an observer (I was not selected to go on stage), I didn’t feel incredibly immersed by any means throughout the show. Having to toggle between two stories made it sometimes difficult to understand what was going on as I couldn’t hear both channels at once (I’d suggest having headphones for the audience with two channels, one for the left and one for the right where we can hear both inner thoughts as they happen while the performers on stage specifically have headphones fitted to one channel).

It would be cool for us to hear specifically and only the inner thoughts while those on stage have the dialogue to say and we hear it for the first time when they say it to enhance the experience and the intrigue.

Having volunteers from the audience is GREAT, but the willingness of the audience volunteers to go full in and immerse themselves in the story can make or break our engagement as an audience. If the performers aren’t fully committed or lose interest, we as an audience lose interest really quickly.

Again, this is a really cool, unique concept, and I can’t wait to see how this shapes and shifts as it progresses, and I’m ready to experience the next run of this show!

My overall impression

Incredibly amazing concept, super unique execution, and really excellent writing makes SoundTrip a worthwhile, fun, unique experience.
