What I liked

Ahlmark’s unswerving commitment to the moment and to her deranged character.
Although, when she “broke” character to become “herself” to read a poem (albeit a deranged one), it was a revelation and surprisingly moving. And what she shared with the audience after the show about her dreams for it was just as moving.

What I didn't like

Ahlmark plans to take this to the Edinburgh Fringe (I would LOVE to see THEIR faces), and she needs audiences to help her get ready. The only thing that could stop her would be low ticket sales. Make sure to see this before it goes across the pond and be a part of performance art history.

My overall impression

Dillis is what The Hollywood Fringe is about: wildly talented people taking wildly courageous risks. If Andy Kaufman had a lovechild with a deranged drill sergeant, it would be Dillis. Be ready for LOTS of awkward, uncomfortable silences, nervous laughter and “what the @#%! is going on?” moments. And that’s clearly Brianna Ahlmark’s goal. She doesn’t just push the envelope of interactive, solo shows – she obliterates it, then recites a deranged poem about it. I’m very glad I saw (and experienced) this.
