What I liked

I loved the calm and intentional movement of the space. Every object, sound bite and smile had a purpose and felt genuine. The intimacy of the space lended to the vulnerability of the performer and all of the shapes and shadows she played with. The voice recordings of grandma were spectacular and the performers seamless interactions with them made for a truly joyous delight.

What I didn't like

It’s easy for work like this to feel awkward, or overly needy. This performance was neither of those things. It was well rehearsed and begging to be turned into an evening length experience. I wanted the rocking chair noise to last forever. And I would love to have more context about the significance of the hummingbird!

My overall impression

Heartfelt and whimsical, this work reminded me that our capacity to love is our greatest strength. I walked away feeling renewed in my desire to create, play, tell stories, and take chances.
