What I liked
Ric’s honesty and ease of storytelling really helped make this a solid show. His prolific writing, beautiful voice, and comedic timing wrapped the show up in a perfect bow.
What I didn't like
A bigger budget would allow for better lighting and perhaps the inclusion of some multi-media. It’s not necessary…but if ‘we’ had a budget, then let’s Produce some segments a bit more.
I felt at the top of the show he stayed back lit just a touch too long. Maybe that’s because I was anxious to see his face…but I feel lights up sooner would have been more effective.
That’s me being nit-picky. This show was great!
My overall impression
Ric Iverson is an amazing performer, songwriter, author, and human being. Seeing his show last night was not only entertaining but felt like we were sitting around chatting about life…while breaking into song along the way. His songs were reminiscent of Next to Normal and Rent rolled into one very real and honest look at life. I truly believe his story should be heard, seen, and fully appreciated by throngs of people.
