Ariel has a very relaxing presence as a performer, which is good because it keeps his frequent descents to dark places from getting overwhelming. The bits throughout are absolute gold. There were a few jokes that struck from out of nowhere and had me cackling madly and gasping for breath.
As I said, there is a darkness here, and while it is approached with good humor, the nuance and insight Ariel provides elicited more than a few thoughtful "mm"s from the crowd.
What I didn't like
The parts utilizing music were so good I wanted MORE
My overall impression
Insightful, creative, and of course, very funny. But also sad. Look, there’s a lot going on and Ariel’s just trying to keep his head above water, trying not to down. A candid look into society and the self that refuses to delve into “poor me” territory.
