The amount of research and care that clearly went into this piece. It was organized well, paced well, and just enveloped me in the experience. Also as a Chicagoain It was great to hear all the inside things that Chicagoains would recognize. Staging was beautiful.
What I didn't like
The instant opening with Studs Turkel then the video clips from antiques road show were both amazing ways to start the show, but after that, the energy dropped very suddenly for a bit. I would have liked a better transition of pacing.
My overall impression
The one-man show version of a documentary… a well-done documentary. It had heart, research, and passion for days. I laughed, I cried, I got angry.
