My overall impression

At first glance, Most Likely To is a hilarious, nostalgic romp through the pop songs and teen movie tropes of the 90s and early 2000s. It isn’t until halfway through the hourlong performance that the visceral, beating heart of the piece begins to reveal itself; the heart of the teenage millennial experience in America, imbued with achingly familiar echoes of earnestness, lustfulness, and passionate vulnerability. If you are between the ages of 35-45 and you’re lucky enough to catch this show before it closes, you will likely find yourself transported (along with the characters) from our present historical moment of uncertainty and doomer-ism to a distant past full of hope that will begin to feel less and less distant with each staggering musical performance. What an excellent night at the theatre!
