I liked that the story is based on a true story and that it was well written. Some of the singers were exceptionally talented: the actor who played Rosie (Giana Teresa Bommarito) was the best – she was able to project her voice, didn’t need a mike and used her body language well. Jesse (Adrianne Lynn Owings) was also very good, but she needed to project her voice better. I was relieved that this was NOT a rock musical as labeled and liked the music and songs. The vacuum cleaner song was the best – cute!
What I didn't like
Desperately need lavs or overhead mikes to help some of the voices that were not able to project well and that was drowned out by the piano. Some of the actors sang off key, needed to project to the rear rafters and enunciate their words. It was hard to understand some of the parts. It reminded me of a high school performance. If it was handed over to have it professionally done, this would have potential on Broadway!
My overall impression
Story was well written, interesting storyline, talented singers overall; production has potential on making it to Broadway with some minor adjustments.
