What I liked
This created a lot of conversation and was really a mix-media show that blew me away and created all sorts of conversation afterwards among members of the audience. It was also incredibly informative, education and inspiring (in more ways than one.)
What I didn't like
I thought it all worked actually. No criticisms. A small production note, that is not because of a problem I had, was that the still images that were projected on the screen behind the performer during the re-staged interviews could be made into “video,” meaning you can take the still and just add camera noise to it so it feels even more encompassing and like it’s actually the background in a video (because of what adding the slight moving visual noise could lend to those moments). It is a small and note, and not based on anything negative, just something I thought about afterwards that I wondered if it could even add more to the moment – again, not that the moment needed anything more.
My overall impression
This was really something to behold and process. The more I think about it, the more I realize how profound the Annie Sprinkle Project is in both its ideas and its execution. Sohpia LaPaglia is a star.
