What I liked

Some great music and dancing. The show is almost wall-to-wall music, with a talented cast filling out the stage.

What I didn't like

This play and his earlier “No Matter Watt” are almost entirely musical numbers, with just a bit of dialog in between. Gordon’s opening monologue to this play explains a lot, and the dialogue between musical numbers could be expanded a little.

My overall impression

“Shubop” is the musical prequel to Gordon’s musical play of last year, “No Matter Watt.” The cast is quite good, with some great singing and dancing. Gordon’s introductory monologue is quite moving, and really is the “book” explaining the plot of the musical numbers. I would love to see both halves of this play put together, which Gordon is planning to do. Recommended !
