What I liked
Carla was a lively and playful actress, not taking herself too seriously. I am impressed by thoughtful details of the concept, and enjoyed the addition of the well-crafted multimedia song interludes.
What I didn't like
Was it satire? Was it true life? I wasn’t sure where the character actually stood with the spiritual concepts and how close this is to the actresses’ actual story. Her character at first is reticent to accept the new age concepts presented by the futuristic bank, but eventually gives in and finds herself empowered. It was hard to tell whether it was purely the viewing of her childhood memories that created the shift into being a “believer,” or if there was more. These questions did not at all take away from my enjoyment of the show, these are just storytelling curiosities I had at the end :)
My overall impression
A portrait of a bank in the future, using philosophies we can identify with already today, I applaud this far-out way of telling a life story that’s likely not so far out at all to many of us who grew up with a scarcity mindset. This show will appeal to anyone who’s grown up with inherited “money issues,” and tried to transform them. The playful spirit of the acting kept me riveted amidst the whirlwind of new-age concepts and memory deep dives that eventually brought the character to a state of blissful empowerment.
