What I liked
Azo is such an endearing and engaging performer! You can’t help but fall in love with her and the many Disneyesque characters that infuse the theme of joy and growth she experienced in her time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco. I absolutely love her mom character who gives us glimpses into Azo’s life in America and the very relatable American immigrant quips. The show is an ode to the Moroccan village that essentially changed Azo’s life for the better and made her into the wonderful person she is today. Brava!

My overall impression
Fun, touching and riveting, I Heart Maroc is a sweet mix of personal narrative and cultural analysis. I was smiling ear to ear throughout the show and was enthralled by Azo’s performance as she deftly switched between characters.
