What I liked

The tale of 3 couples “plus one” in the early 50’s is told in a unique, clever, catchy and amusing manner. The witty songs brought extra layers to the characters. There was always an evolution in the spoken dialogue and the songs that “brought to life” these 7 characters. Getting them and understanding them was made so easy! The choreography of these actors had me so engaged as I appreciated their sheer talents. What they are doing with their gestures all the while expressing dialogue and singing is truly amazing! There were some terrific standout musical moments, one in particular by an elfin but dynamic Quincey Lou Huerter!!!!

What I didn't like

The premiere performance I saw was full strength talent and PRO! The entire cast of actors and musician clearly are in rhythm with each other and that took talent and dedication to their craft to make this fun piece of theatre so entertaining. To find a slight fault or flaw is not easy as this performance was so strong on excellence. If I found one slight moment it was during one or two of the songs when the lyrics could not be heard well because those singing did not have mics, instead using the powerful voices.

My overall impression

Amazingly clever! Impressive! Wow! So much precision choreography that was tight, spot on, 100% between the actors and the musicians. The hours and hours of rehearsal showed in this outstanding evening at the theatre.
