Edie’s and Petey’s solo musical moments could’ve been longer.
My overall impression
I’ve watched Edie and Petey Stevenson sing their way through steamy scenes since they first appeared in a shorts show at the old Elephant Theatre over a decade ago. One of the reasons they’ve come back in so many forums is the humor, empathy and ingenuity of playwright Tony Foster. Amir Levi and Demetris Hartman launch Edie and Petey into comedy’s stratosphere. Levi’s legs are hurricanes of movement and emotion, and Hartman paints a color filled portrait of a young man who comes to realize his exasperating mother is also the best onstage partner he’s ever had. Don’t miss this show, because if this is the last time we will see Edie and Petey—and Levi and Hartman—together, it is indeed bittersweet.
How many come backs does COMEBACK! have? I hope many more.
